Virtual & In-Person Somatic, Trauma-Informed Counselling in Comox Valley, BC

Join the B-rooted Team

At B-rooted, we are deeply committed to offering therapy that is embodied, relational, and grounded in nervous system awareness. We are a growing practice in the Comox Valley & online that values presence over performance, depth over speed, and connection over perfection. If you are drawn to thoughtful, body-based work and want to practice in a way that feels aligned and sustainable, we would love to hear from you.

Our Values

At B-rooted, our work is guided by care, curiosity, and respect for each person’s lived experience. We believe healing happens when the body feels safe enough to soften, when choice is honoured, and when change unfolds at its own pace.

Rather than pushing toward an outcome, we focus on creating the conditions where steadiness, connection, and agency can naturally emerge. This is work rooted in compassion and trust in your body’s innate wisdom.

Safety First

Healing begins with safety. We prioritize nervous system regulation, consent, pacing, and choice in every therapeutic relationship.

The Wisdom of the Body

Your body holds innate intelligence. We listen to sensation, impulse, and rhythm as essential guides in the healing process.

Relationship & Community

We believe healing happens in connection. Being seen, witnessed, and met with attuned presence is foundational to sustained change.

Gentleness Over Forcing

We move at the pace of your nervous system. Healing does not require pushing — it requires permission and compassion.

Wholeness & Empowerment

We honour the fullness of who you are. Our work supports reclaiming agency, choice, and a felt sense of belonging within yourself and the world.

Belonging & Inclusivity

We are committed to creating a space where all identities, relationship structures, bodies, and lived experiences are welcomed and respected. Your gender, sexuality, culture, race, ability, and ways of loving are not something to explain or defend here. They are honoured as part of your wholeness.

What It Is Like to Train or Work at B-rooted

Being part of B-rooted means practicing in an environment that values nervous system regulation, embodiment, and relational safety. We encourage slowing down, tuning in, and trusting the process rather than rushing toward outcomes. Whether you are a student therapist or a seasoned clinician, you will be supported in practicing in a way that feels ethical, grounded, and sustainable.

We are especially drawn to clinicians and students who are curious about somatic-based therapy, trauma-informed care, attachment work, and depth-oriented approaches. You do not need to be an expert. You do need to be willing to learn, reflect, and show up with care.

Values-led, heart-centered work

Your work is guided by the belief that people are their own healers. You are encouraged to practice in a way that honors client autonomy, deep listening, and your own inner compass as a clinician.

Supportive mentorship and growth

Whether you are an intern or a seasoned therapist, you are supported through thoughtful supervision, collaboration, and space to deepen both your clinical skills and personal healing journey.

A grounded, intentional pace

This is a practice that values presence over productivity. You are supported in creating a sustainable rhythm that protects against burnout and allows you to show up fully for clients and yourself.

Room to bring your whole self

We welcome your lived experience, spirituality, curiosity, and creativity. You are not asked to fit into a rigid mold, but invited to practice authentically and in alignment with who you are.

Meaningful impact and connection

You become part of a practice that prioritizes depth, integrity, and genuine connection. The work here is not just about doing therapy, but about being part of a community rooted in healing and purpose.

Our Intern Program

As an intern at B-rooted, you can expect:

Hands-on clinical experience while completing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology or Social Work

Support in developing your own therapeutic voice, with an emphasis on body-based awareness, attunement, and relational safety

Dedicated space for reflection, questions, and personal growth, recognizing that becoming a therapist is both a professional and personal process

Ongoing weekly supervision with an experienced onsite Clinical Supervisor, alongside guidance from your academic program, to ensure strong support and accountability

Interns must be master’s-level students currently enrolled in a counseling, psychotherapy, or closely related mental health graduate program.

Careers

Join as a Registered Practitioner

B-rooted welcomes contract registered counsellors who are already in practice and want to expand their work within a supportive, values-aligned environment. If you love the clinical work but feel tired of doing it alone, managing systems, or constantly thinking about marketing, this program offers a different way to practice.

As part of the B-rooted community, you remain rooted in your own clinical identity while gaining access to shared resources, supervision, and a community that understands the realities of this work.

Built-in systems and software support

We provide the tools that support your practice, including scheduling, documentation, and administrative systems, so your energy can stay with your clients rather than logistics.

Included supervision and monthly clinical meetings

You receive ongoing supervision and are invited into monthly meetings that support reflection, learning, and professional growth, without the isolation of solo practice.

Community and connection

You become part of a familiar, collaborative team rather than working alone day after day. There is space for shared learning, support, and honest conversation about the work.

Quarterly virtual trainings at no extra cost

Regular trainings are included to support continued development, deepen your clinical approach, and stay connected to evolving practices.

Less focus on marketing, more focus on therapy

This model allows you to step away from constant self-promotion and instead invest your time and energy in the therapeutic work you love.
