About Somatic Counselling

The word somatic is derived from the Greek word “soma” which means living body. Somatic therapy is a holistic therapy that studies the relationship between the mind, body and spirit. 

Somatic Counselling is a body-oriented approach for the healing of past trauma. Working with intuition along with the physiology of the body this framework offers you an opportunity to understand when you unconsciously enter into fight, flight or freeze. These healing processes help resolve these fixated physiological states.

Have you ever felt stuck, overwhelmed or trapped by a specific stage of life – maybe even a specific relationship or circumstance? Feeling this way is completely human. Somatic counselling allows a nurturing and safe space to acknowledge this obstacles and learn new body processing techniques to release trauma.
