Trauma & Nervous System Healing Across BC

Virtual somatic, trauma-informed therapy for adults carrying past trauma, chronic overwhelm, shutdown, or the sense that talk therapy alone has not reached the whole story.

When Your Body Is Still Holding What Happened

Trauma is not always something you can think your way through. You may understand what happened, know it was not your fault, or have talked about it before, and still feel like your body is carrying the story.

At B-rooted, trauma and nervous system healing offers a slower, gentler space to work with what still feels activated, numb, braced, or unfinished. Through virtual somatic, trauma-informed therapy across BC, we support adults who may feel like talk therapy alone has not reached the whole experience.

This work is not about rushing into painful memories or forcing yourself to “move on.” It is about listening to your body, reconnecting with safety in small ways, and honouring the parts of you that learned to survive.

When Your System Is Still Trying to Survive

Feeling stuck in high alert, shutdown, numbness, or collapse

Past experiences that still feel present in your body, even when life has moved on

Chronic overwhelm, tension, fatigue, or feeling disconnected from yourself

Difficulty trusting calm, safety, closeness, or your own body’s signals

Reactivity, freezing, people-pleasing, or withdrawing when things feel too much

A sense that talk therapy helped you understand the story, but your body still feels caught in it

Wanting to feel more grounded, present, and connected, without rushing your healing

What Becomes Possible

Trauma and nervous system healing at B-rooted is grounded in somatic, trauma-informed care. This means we gently explore not only the story of what happened, but also what your body has carried, protected, and adapted around.

Rather than rushing toward insight or asking you to relive painful experiences before your system feels ready, we create space for healing to unfold with care. Through virtual therapy across BC, this work can support adults in building more safety, connection, and choice from the inside out.

Greater Nervous System Regulation
Your body begins to recognize moments of safety and steadiness more often. You may notice more capacity to stay present, fewer crashes, and less time feeling stuck in high alert or shutdown.
A Gentler Relationship With Your Body
Therapy can help you slowly reconnect with body sensations, emotions, and cues without feeling flooded, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself.
More Choice Around Old Survival Patterns
As your nervous system feels more supported, patterns like freezing, people-pleasing, bracing, withdrawing, or over-functioning may become easier to notice with compassion.
Deeper Safety in Connection
Attachment-focused trauma support can help you explore trust, boundaries, closeness, and relational safety at a pace that honours your nervous system.
A Life That Feels More Present, Not Just Survived
The goal is not to erase your story. It is to help you feel more rooted in the present, more connected to yourself, and less defined by what your body had to do to get through.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is trauma and nervous system healing?
Trauma and nervous system healing is a gentle way of working with the body, mind, and protective patterns that may still be carrying what happened. At B-rooted, this work is not about rushing into painful memories. It is about helping your system feel supported enough to reconnect with safety, choice, and presence.
Can trauma therapy help if talk therapy has not felt like enough?
Yes. Some people understand their story clearly, but still feel activated, numb, shut down, or disconnected in their body. Somatic, trauma-informed therapy can support the parts of your experience that may not shift through insight alone, including body sensations, nervous system responses, and old survival patterns.
Do I have to talk about everything that happened?
No. You do not have to share every detail before you are ready. Trauma therapy at B-rooted moves at a pace that respects your nervous system. We can begin with what is happening now, such as tension, overwhelm, shutdown, fear, or difficulty feeling safe, and build from there.
Is trauma therapy available virtually across BC?
Yes. B-rooted currently offers virtual trauma and nervous system healing across British Columbia. You can access online, somatic, trauma-informed support from your own space, whether you are in Comox Valley, Vancouver Island, the Lower Mainland, the Interior, Northern BC, or another community in the province.
