Counseling for Sensitive and Deep-Feeling Adults Across BC

Virtual, somatic therapy for adults who are ready for support that does not treat sensitivity like a problem to solve.

When the World Feels Like a Lot

Being sensitive does not mean you are fragile. It may mean your body, mind, and heart are taking in more than other people seem to notice.

At B-rooted, counseling for sensitive and deep-feeling adults offers a place to understand your sensitivity without trying to shut it down. We support adults across BC who want to feel more grounded, clearer in their boundaries, and less flooded by the world around them.

This work is not about becoming less sensitive. It is about helping your sensitivity feel less lonely, less overwhelming, and more rooted in care.

When Sensitivity Feels Can feel Overwhelming

Feeling flooded by other people’s emotions, moods, or expectations

Noticing tension, tone shifts, or tiny details that others seem to miss

Feeling easily overwhelmed by noise, conflict, clutter, pressure, or busy environments

Trying to keep everyone comfortable while quietly losing track of what you need

Feeling unsure where your emotions end and someone else’s begin

Needing extra recovery time after social plans, workdays, or family conversations

Understanding your patterns, but still feeling stuck in the same body responses

Wanting to feel grounded without having to become numb, shut down, or “less sensitive”

What Becomes Possible When Sensitivity Has the Right Support

Sensitivity does not have to mean walking through life with your nervous system turned all the way up.

At B-rooted, counseling for sensitive and deep-feeling adults is not about toughening you up or teaching you to care less. Through somatic therapy, we help you listen to what your body has been trying to say, so you can build steadiness without abandoning the part of you that feels deeply.

A Softer Relationship With Your Sensitivity

Instead of treating sensitivity like something to hide, you can begin to understand what it helps you notice, protect, value, and need.

More Space Before Overwhelm Takes Over

You may start to recognize the early signs that your system is getting flooded, before you are already exhausted, shut down, or snapping at someone you love.

Clearer Boundaries Without So Much Guilt

Deep-feeling people often sense what others need very quickly. Therapy can help you pause long enough to ask, “What do I need here too?”

Grounding That Feels Like It Actually Fits

Support does not have to be limited to talking things through. Nature-based therapy can offer a slower, more spacious way to reconnect with your body, your breath, and the world around you.

A Life With More Room to Be Yourself

The goal is not to become less sensitive. It is to feel less ruled by overwhelm, and more able to move through the world as the person you already are.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is being highly sensitive the same as being overwhelmed?

Not always. Sensitivity can mean you notice and feel things deeply, which can be a strength. Overwhelm tends to happen when your body has been taking in too much for too long without enough space to process, rest, or come back to itself.

Can therapy help me be less affected by everything?

Therapy is not about making you less sensitive or teaching you to ignore what you feel. It can help you understand your responses, build steadier boundaries, and feel less hijacked by every tone shift, request, conflict, or crowded room.

What does somatic therapy have to do with sensitivity?

Sensitivity often shows up in the body first. You may feel tight, flooded, braced, tired, buzzy, or shut down before you fully understand what happened. Somatic therapy can help you notice those signals with more care and respond before overwhelm takes over.

Is this counseling available virtually across BC?

Yes. B-rooted currently offers virtual counseling across British Columbia, so sensitive and deep-feeling adults can access support from their own space.

What if I have always been told I am “too much”?

That message can land hard, especially if you have spent years trying to shrink your reactions, needs, intuition, or emotions. Counseling can offer a place to explore that story without assuming your sensitivity is the problem.

Is this different from general individual therapy?

This type of therapy is focused specifically on sensitive, deep-feeling, introspective, and empathic adults. If you are looking for broader support with stress, relationships, identity, anxiety, burnout, or life patterns, individual therapy may also be a helpful place to start.
