Life Transitions & Identity Change Counseling Across BC

Virtual, trauma-informed counseling for adults moving through endings, beginnings, uncertainty, or the quiet feeling that life no longer fits the way it used to.

When Life No Longer Fits the Way It Used To

Sometimes change is obvious. A move, a separation, a new role, a loss, a career shift, parenthood, midlife, or a relationship ending.

Other times, nothing looks dramatic from the outside, but inside, something has started to feel different. The old rhythm does not fit. The old version of you feels far away.

At B-rooted, life transitions and identity change counseling offers space to be with the uncertainty, grief, possibility, and big questions that can come when a big shift happens. We support adults across BC without rushing you to have the answer before you have had time to process those changes.

When a Life Transition Changes More Than Your Schedule

A move, separation, career shift, caregiving change, parenthood, midlife, or new season that has changed daily life

Feeling between versions of yourself, not quite who you were and not yet sure who you are becoming

Grief for a role, relationship, home, community, routine, or future you thought you were building

Big questions about purpose, belonging, spirituality, values, or what matters now

Pressure to be excited, grateful, decisive, or “over it” before you actually feel ready

Feeling restless, tender, ungrounded, or unsure what you want next

Wanting a steady place to sort through the change without being rushed into a tidy answer

Individual therapy

What Becomes Possible

Life transitions have a way of asking bigger questions than expected. What do I actually want now? What still belongs to me? What am I allowed to leave behind?

At B-rooted, counseling for life transitions and identity changes gives you room to sort through the practical pieces and the deeper ones. Through individual therapy, you can explore the grief, hope, confusion, relief, fear, and possibility that can all show up when life starts rearranging itself.

This work is not about forcing clarity before it is ready. It is about giving your inner life somewhere honest to land while you figure out what comes next.

More Room for the Messiness of Change

You do not have to package the transition neatly before bringing it into therapy. The mixed feelings are part of the work.

Support for Grief, Even When Nothing “Bad” Happened

Sometimes we grieve a role, a routine, a place, a relationship, a future, or an old version of ourselves. That grief deserves space too.

A Clearer Sense of What Still Fits

As life changes, therapy can help you notice what feels aligned now, what feels inherited, and what may no longer belong to this season of you.

More Space to Slow Down and Listen

When everything feels uncertain, mindfulness-based therapy can offer a way to pause, notice what is happening inside, and make room for the questions without needing immediate answers.

A Life That Leaves Room for Who You Are Becoming

The goal is not to rush into the next version of yourself. It is to move with more honesty, steadiness, and care while that version slowly comes into view.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is life transitions and identity change counseling?

Life transitions and identity change counseling is support for seasons when life has shifted, and you are trying to understand what that means for you now. This may include a move, separation, parenthood, career change, midlife, loss, spiritual change, or the quiet feeling that an old version of you no longer fits.

Do I need to be in crisis to start counseling for a life transition?

No. You do not need to be in crisis, falling apart, or totally sure what you need before reaching out. Sometimes therapy is helpful when life feels tender, uncertain, or too big to sort through alone.

What if I do not know what I want next?

That is allowed. Truly. You do not need to arrive with a five-year plan and a colour-coded identity map. Counseling can help you slow down, listen more honestly, and make room for what is becoming clearer over time.

Is life transitions counseling available virtually across BC?

Yes. B-rooted currently offers virtual counseling across British Columbia, so you can access support for life transitions, identity changes, and uncertainty from your own space.
